Salsa/Jive

The Jive, with a Tie-down bracket on the seat frame.
The Salsa also has a Tie-down on its seat frame.
The tie down has two bolts that go through the frame, with a nut on the opposite side.
Notice the nut. The Adapter Plate can be sandwiched between the frame and the tie down, if the bolt is replaced with a longer one and lock nuts are used.
The two bolts are either 5/16" or M8, so they must make use of the larger holes and slots on the Adapter Plate 4. This means the Adapter Plate will be at an angle, so the Angle Adjustment plate will be needed.
Adapter Plate "sandwiched" between tie-down and wheelchair; attach the Wheelchair Bracket to the Adapter Plate.

Offset options

Offsets attach to the wheelchair attachment hardware, and are used to:

  • Get around obstacles such as trays, brakes, footrests and armrests
  • Position the Wheelchair Bracket so the post is in the optimal position (post can be inserted and removed, brakes are unobstructed, footrests removed, accommodate the tray, etc)
  • Adjust the angle of the hardware and/or bracket to make sure the post is vertical

These plates can all be used to offset. To figure out which offset plate will work for you, see our Offset Guide.

How to mount:

Approach 1: Sandwich an Adapter Plate 4 between the Tie-down and the frame.

Note: some sites will not allow this.

Approach 2: The alternative is to drill two holes through the Square frame or look for other means of attaching.
